How do I keep my dog bed clean?

Your dog bed can become a breeding ground for bacteria and odors if you don't clean it often enough. It will also last longer if you maintain it properly. But how often should I actually wash my dog bed? Well, scroll down to find out more. 🐶

How often to wash? 🧼

More often than you probably think. You should ideally vacuum your dog bed every week and wash it every 2 weeks. Although it also depends on whether your dog spends a lot of time outside. Especially in the autumn and winter months, when your little rascal might have muddy paws, your dog bed can be a breeding ground for bacteria.

How? 💧

It's best to remove loose hairs every week with a vacuum cleaner. Then, remove the cover using the zipper (if possible) and wash it at 30 degrees in the washing machine. Do not use fabric softener and use a mild detergent. If your dog bed doesn't have a zipper, you can wash it by hand in lukewarm water. Afterward, let it dry on a rack.

Washing instructions? 🤔

Always check the washing instructions. It would be a shame if you damaged your cushion after just one wash. Most dog beds can be washed in lukewarm water. Often, a machine wash at 30 degrees is also possible. The tumble dryer is not recommended. Let your cushion/cover dry on a rack out of the sun. This way, you also avoid the risk of discoloration.
